As you gear up for finals this week, Be A Senator wants to remind you to show Responsibility by giving yourself ample time to study and prepare. Students: please be aware that you are responsible for the care of your Chromebook. Do not misuse the Chromebook in any way - this includes tampering with the charging port or USB slot. Make sure you are handling all computers with care and safety in mind. Consequences for misuse will be assigned to any student who damages their Chromebook. Thank you!
Please remove any non-district labels or stickers that may be on your Chromebook (including any left over glue residue) ASAP! Having a clean and sticker-free device will speed up the tech collection process and get you through the line faster. We will NOT accept devices that are dirty or that have stickers or glue residue, so clean them up now!
All students interested in attending School Spirit Night for the Lucky Horseshoes should stop by the main office to pick up free tickets. Tickets are first come, first serve. The game will be on Thursday, 5/29 at 6:30 pm.

Congratulations to the Springfield High School Boys Tennis Team on finishing fourth at the closely contested 2025 Sectionals! The team of Krish Khurana/Jai Khurana placed second at doubles and qualified for State. Contributing to the team's finish were the doubles team of Matthew Sommer/Rohan Ugrappa as well as Bennett Nelson and Faaiz Qureshi at singles.

The Springfield High School Boys Tennis Junior Varsity Team recently played its last meet of the season against Taylorville High School. In singles, Nate Pasman and Cody Stevens won. While in doubles, the teams of Sri Thuppal/Cody Stevens, Nate Pasman/Gavin Cosenza-Stanley, Will Eichinger/Ben Perry, Ben Cliburn/Ubaadah Mehmood, Alex Williams/Sebastian Moore and Cael Miller/Henry Stachera emerged victorious. Good job by everyone who played.
The baseball team pulled off their biggest upset win of the season with a 3 to 2 victory Friday night over 22 game winner Limestone after losing game one 10 to 1. A.J. Ozier was the light of the night with an outstanding performance on the mound, shutting down the potent offense of the Rockets in limiting them to only 2 hits while striking out 6 and walking only 2. The Solons were brought back to earth on Saturday morning when they lost a 15 to 1 decision to state power Edwardsville at their place. Jackson Jenkins led the offense for the weekend with 3 hits, as big bro Jacob and Wade Snyder each added a double to go with a triple by Jeffrey Sturm. Next up is regional play on Wednesday night when the Senators face the Crimsons of Jacksonville at their place in a 7 p.m. contest.
Congratulations to the Scholastic Bowl team on their perfomance at Nationals in Atlanta over the weekend.Both teams represented SHS well in true Solon fashion. Springfield A Ethan Baima, Braydon Meyer, Vanshika Guns and Marc Quiroz made playoffs and finished 97th. The B team Anshul Negrecha, Meher Garg, Sean Tucker, and Kyle Arjsamat held their own throughout the tournament and are readying themselves for next year.
The soccer team defeated Rochester 6-0 for the Regional Championship Friday night. Kamryn Hoffman scored 4 goals with Madison Clark and Zoe Wall adding a goal each. Kalyn Burton had 3 assistants, Phoebe Barns and Bridget Lyons picked up an assist. Lucy Ambrose, Annabelle, Bilyeu, Rylee Clark, Emma Allen and Ainsley Lambert had excellent defensive games. Lydia Auble earned the shut-out.
